Quality standards

The members of the Translingua legal team have completed legal training / are licensed to practice in and have practical experience in the law in action; have long-standing experience in the area of legal translation; are native speakers in the relevant target language.

  • All work in the area of law and implementation is drafted in a team, or at least reviewed by a second member of staff.
  • Each translation is subject to a rigorous quality control by an experienced linguist (four-eyes principle) holding at least the same qualifications as the legal translator.
  • If the translation is to be published, an additional concluding review is carried out.
  • Translingua uses its own bespoke project management software, which complies with the requirements of ISO standard 17100:2016.
  • Translingua uses the latest versions of the most common computer-assisted translation tools (CAT) and compiles a separate translation memory for every client.
  • We also keep client-specific and subject-specific glossaries in our terminology database.

Security standards

As lawyers with many years of experience with sensitive (and in some cases highly sensitive) data, we are mindful of the importance of the confidential status of our clients’ documents and the related responsibility.

Translingua operates a strict document management process:

  • Written and oral information and any data that we access in relation to our work for our clients are treated under all circumstances in the strictest confidence.
  • Alongside the statutory duty of confidentiality, we subject all of our staff to a contractual duty of confidentiality.
  • However, we are naturally also willing to sign project-specific non-disclosure agreements at any time.

Translingua treats all client data in confidence and in accordance with the relevant statutory requirements.

Any client data transmitted by the client to Translingua by virtue of the usage of this website will only be used by Translingua in relation to the specific mandate and will not be made accessible to third parties.

Translingua guarantees data security using cutting-edge instruments.

  • For instance, data and email can be exchanged between the client and Translingua and also between Translingua and its external staff in encrypted form.
  • Our web services are also secured by an encryption protocol (SSL).
